This is our full-sized Kurobuta bone-in ham cut in half for when you want a smaller quantity. This Snake River ham is fully cooked and 100% purebred heritage Berkshire (Kurobuta) pork for a rich and flavorful experience.
Our Kurobuta hams are embraced by a large and enthusiastic group of ham lovers. Try one for yourself and you'll understand why. Tender and flavorful with a hint of smoke and a touch of sweetness, these are far superior to other hams. SRF hams are made with our signature family cure and smoked over real hardwood.
Kurobuta is the Japanese term for “black hog” and refers to animals of the Berkshire variety. Kurobuta pork is highly marbled with a beautiful dark color, firm texture, and naturally delicious flavor. Our animals are treated humanely and are raised on small family farms without hormones using a natural slow feed process.
Average weights:
Small - 6 lbs.
Medium - 7.5 lbs.
Large - 9.5 lbs.
This is a natural product, and actual weights may vary by +/- .5 lbs.
Thaw under refrigeration, pat dry, and season generously before cooking. Sear over high heat, then finish gently until the center reaches your preferred temperature.
Rest steaks for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. For thicker cuts, use a thermometer and pull from heat a few degrees early so carryover cooking finishes the job.
